Glossary

Artifact. A document PI wrote for you: a review, a report, a paper draft, a patent draft, a post, code, a chart. It lives under Artifacts and outlasts its conversation.

Claim. One research conclusion, stated once, attached to its source, its evidence and its publication record. The unit everything on PIPress is made of.

Collision. When the system notices that two things with no obvious relationship actually do: a new Claim that undercuts a paper of yours, two fields converging on the same problem, an opportunity in the gap between them.

Confidence. High, Medium or Low: how settled the finding behind a Claim is. Separate from the score.

Domain. A subject area, such as Lightning or Healthcare AI. Domains are grouped in two tracks, Blockchain and AI & Tech (also labelled IS&T), and each contains topics.

Evidence. What a Claim rests on, kept attached to it. Rated by how direct it is: a primary source (the specification, the peer-reviewed paper) counts for more than a narrative one (a blog post about it).

For You. The feed sort that ranks Claims for you personally, from the areas you follow, what you do with Claims, your research questions and your library. Each result says why it is there.

Library. The papers, patents and findings you brought in. Private. Separate from the public Claim network.

Nostr. An open network where PIPress publishes Claims and posts, and where reactions, comments and zaps live. Anyone can read it without an account. A Nostr key can also be your PIPress login.

PI. The research assistant. You ask in plain language; it searches, reads, explains and writes.

Report. A document you assemble yourself from artifacts, charts, files and papers, and export as Markdown, LaTeX or PDF.

Research alert. A standing watch you ask PI for in a sentence ("alert me weekly on lightning routing"). PI emails you what is new on it, ranked for your focus, on the schedule you chose.

Research profile. Your library, research questions, research alerts, research preferences, followed researchers and connected identities. What makes PIPress specific to you.

Score. How much a Claim actually changes things, shown as a percentage and a tier letter (A to D). Not a quality rating.

Tier. The score in four bands: A verified (79% and up), B corroborated, C contested, D speculation.

Zap. A small Lightning payment attached to a Claim, sent from a wallet you connect or by scanning a QR code. The strongest signal your feed learns from.
